Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ pound Italian sausage casings removed
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • Optional: sliced jalapeños or banana peppers

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Roll the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake the meatballs for about 20 minutes until fully cooked and golden brown.
  • Heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.
  • Place 3-4 meatballs in each sub roll and ladle marinara sauce over them, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the assembled subs and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, and add optional jalapeños or banana peppers if desired.
