Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound beef prime rib or top round
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Caramelize the onions in a large skillet with 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  • Cook the beef in the skillet until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Pour in the beef broth, scraping up any browned bits, and cook until the liquid has reduced slightly.
  • Prepare the rolls by slicing them in half and buttering with the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Assemble the sliders by spooning the beef and onion mixture onto the bottom half of each roll, followed by a slice of cheese.
  • Bake the sliders in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are toasted.
