Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup pretzel seasoning
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg beaten
  • sesame seeds or pretzel salt

Instructions
 

  • Activate the yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes.
  • Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 10-12 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a greased bowl, covered with a damp cloth, for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces and shape into pretzels.
  • Place the pretzels on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 1 inch of space between each pretzel.
  • Brush the tops of the pretzels with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.
  • Sprinkle the pretzel seasoning and Parmesan cheese evenly over the pretzels.
  • Bake the pretzels for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
