  • 8 slices bacon chopped
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup day-old bread cut into cubes
  • ¼ cup fresh chives finely chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a skillet, sauté the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving some fat in the skillet.

  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
  • Layer the toasted bread, bacon, and cheddar cheese in the baking dish.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the layers, ensuring even distribution.
