Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup quick-cooking grits
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt olive oil and butter.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp, season with smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice, simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • In a separate saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil and whisk in grits, then reduce heat to low.
  • Cook grits according to package instructions, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Once thickened, stir in cheddar cheese and heavy cream until well combined.
  • Spoon grits onto plates, top with barbecue shrimp and sauce.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and chopped parsley.
  • Serve in shallow bowls with a lemon wedge on the side.
